Please could someone tell me what treatment is needed for my female zebra finch. She appeared to have diarrohea and gave her avol mixture but I don't think this has done the trick. The vent area seems to be white and dried and some of her feathers are missing which I think is from where she is trying to remove the white stuff. Her voice is now a squeak instead of her usual sounds. She eats the millett and drinks normally and flies normally. Any advice please.

Re: Advice please
I can't tell what that is a pic of but usually if a bird just has loose stools I give a few drops of apple cider vinegar in the water which firms the stool up.
BUT if the bird is actually sick then you should put the bird in a hospital cage or somewhere warm.
Depending on if she is sick or not I may or may not bother with her poopiness...it may stress her out more if she is battling an illness. I would probably leave her dirty backside alone for now as long as it doesn't dry up and block off her vent.
As far as the treatments for the symptoms you describe, there are so many meds that I couldn't tell you which one to use

I apologize, somehow I missed this post. Sounds almost like there might be more than one thing going on with her. How long have you had her? Where did you get her from? If there's a problem with her voice I 'd tend to think it might be air sac mites. There's an excellent description of how to resolve that condition in the health section of this index. The moderators have it set up so that it's easily accessible at the top of the section.
As was previously addressed the loose stool could be any number of things. The apple cider vinegar is an excellent suggestion. We generally provide a bit in the water for our guys every day. We mix a gallon at a time, adding 1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar to a gallon of water. However if that hasn't helped thus far and if she does has air sac mites, another infestation is a possibility. You could always try a dewormer of some sort. Even if she doesn't have them, it wouldn't hurt her to try the treatment.
