IMO you should be able to keep both species together without problems. Both Gouldians and Goldbreasts are very passive species that get along well with other finches. As with any grouping individual personalities can come into play, but in general it should be fine.

I have had gouldians and OB waxbills in an outside aviary together with firefinches, emblemas and Red throated parrot finches. All seem to get on well and at the moment they are all either sitting on eggs or rearing babies. The only thing I have noticed, the RTPF cock can sometimes get a bit possessive about the seed hopper, nothing dramatic just some of the other birds move away when he arrives but others will stand up to him. Easily solved though, just put another hopper in the aviary, doesn't matter how fast he is he cant be in two places at once

i have 4 gouldians 2 fires 2 female zebras 2 cordons and 2 goldbreasts and there is very little stress at all except when the zebras go near the gouldians nest where they seem to be gettin ready to mate.
so no probs here
aviary is 6ft by 5ft and 2 ft deep

I have gouldians, cordon blues, gouldians, orange cheek waxbills, fire finches, bronze wings, and owls all together in a small aviary and never had a problem with them yet.
