I'm so frustrated
](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)
Every time I try to use one of my own photos as an avitar it tells me I can't because my pictures are too big. I make them smaller, 1"x1" and it's too big, fewer pixles, all that and then I end up with a mess. Someone
please tell me the secret. I'm okay with computers, I have photoshop, why can't I get this right? Grrrr.....

Try reducing the quality to about 80% - it will still look great but the file size will be reduced quite a bit.
I use Photoshop too and I just checked my avatar sizing and it is 100x100 pixels. The resolution is 72. The inches are 1.389x1.389.

If you can't manage it - PM me and I'll walk you through it. It gets easy after you do it a couple of times.

I had the same problem, never could get the photo file size down small enough. Then poohbear posted this, and it is so simple:

Thanks guys! I always had trouble with that too. Just made my own avatar thanks to this. It's not the best quality pic, but it's one of my boys in their nest. I'll try to take some better pics later on.
