Shrinking a photo. HELP

Hi All. Ok I have shrunk about 10 photos as small as possible and still cant get any small enough to fit on this board as an avatar, Whats the secret????
I can get them roughly about 30 but thats it and by then there pretty mutilated and NOT what I started with.

Do you know if it's an RGB file or CMYK? If it's CMYK it'll be larger, you can easily change it to RGB mode though. Oh, and if that doesn't work or you can't figure it out you can always save it as a gif, those are really compact. Good luck!

You just have to keep trying. I did the same thing about a week ago. I posted and asked if they could set up something that auto fits the avatar. Its a work in progress that we might not see. :)

You don't want to make a .gif, the purpose of a .gif is to reduce the size of a picture and to to that you lose quality. What I do is open in Microsoft Paint and crop the picture. I took the full size and just took the head of the bird and only had to drop the size to 90% of the original.

When I was doing that I couldnt get it below 60K and your allowed 6. I will try some other stuff, Thank You

what is the size of your original picture? Do you want the entire pic as the avatar? I did and ended up having to use just the head :(
