Learning how to use various forum buttons

Post by delray » Sun Aug 30, 2015 10:59 pm

Hi forum!
I thought it would be a good idea to remind our members, new and old that of some features our forum has to make our lives easier. :D

One of my favorite tools that I enjoy using is the email notification system. This is located at the board preferences section of the 'User Control Panel' . Here below is the choices that you have, which can be answered by a simple yes or no. If you haven't been to this section, your settings are default, and can be changed to your personal preference.

Users can contact me by e-mail: Yes No
Administrators can e-mail me information: Yes No
Allow users to send you private messages:
Note that administrators and moderators will always be able to send you messages. Yes No
Notify me via PM if someone likes my post:
You will receive a PM if someone likes any of your posts. Yes No
Notify me via e-mail if someone likes my post:
You will receive an e-mail if someone likes any of your posts. Yes No
Hide my online status:
Changing this setting won’t become effective until your next visit to the board. Yes No
Notify me on new private messages: Yes No
Pop up window on new private message: Yes No
Notify on a mention in a post: Yes No

These settings can be very helpful and tailored to the way you like it.

Another factor I would like to address would be the @ u button located at the bottom left of every member that you see. This feature is used to tag a member, and that the person will recieve a notification via PM's or email. This is the same place where you will recieve private messages. For example: In the case that a member has an urgent breeding matter that needs to be answered, they will recieve a notification right away.

An additional feature that you may not know about is the 'Subscribe topic' button. When you click this button, you will recieve notifications via private message and through email if you agreed to the email notify button.

I will be adding to this thread soon.

We hope this will help our members new and old get around the forum much easier! Have a great night!
