I can delete pm's one at a time, but like to tag a number of them and delete them in one go. Can I do it?

Ok, I figured, it out. At the bottom of the screen, there is drag down option, that says: Mark / unmark as important. You can change it to: delete marked. You can then mark an entire page of pm's and delete them in one go.

Funny you mention that today. I was just going through some messages yesterday and getting rid of a bunch of 'you have been mentioned' notices one at the time, thinking that there has to be a better way .

I do however like to hang on to some of the Private Messages, and was wondering if there is some way of transferring them into a file somewhere, so that they don't take up space on here. Still haven't figured that one out.

I don't know if the members at large have this ability, as moderators work under a whole different set of privileges, but go to your PMs, and scroll down the menu on the left side. If you see something that says 'Rules, folders and settings' then that lets you set up some folders in which to save PMs. I'll be curious to see if that is available to the general membership.

Sally members have the privilege to do that.

That would be very helpful in cleaning up the inbox for me.

Hi Brian.

I opened a folder titled P.M.'s (very imaginative ) . Then I tried with one pm, I pushed 'move to folder' button, but nothing happened.

What did I do wrong?

lovezebs hey Elana, sorry for the late response. I was playing baseball with my friends and cousins. I had a good hit, and I got 2 people to home and myself to third base.

When you go onto PM's , on the bottom right of the main private message screen will have a menu.. Click on it, and scroll until you see move to ---- (whatever you named your folder) then mark the ones that you want to move, and click ok. This should move them to the folder. Here is a photo to help. I know you don't have an iPhone, but it should be the same selection.

Go to Rules, folders and settings (on left of PM screen)
Go to add new rule. It says IF Subject (leave it on if subject) select next
Fill in by Subject is like "You have been mentioned" and select next
Change the middle section from "Place into folder inbox" to "Delete" by using the dragdown arrow on the right and selecting delete.
Click on add rule on the right.

I have not tested this, but it should work. This won't work on mail already in the inbox. Please let me know if this works.

It works! I got an email saying "you have been mentioned" which I will now set the "Notify on a mention in a post:" to no and that should stop all the emails. When I went to the site I had the pop up that I had been mentioned. When I went to my inbox there was nothing there.
Only downside may be that you wouldn't know which post you were mentioned in because the PM with the link got deleted but since I always click "View unread posts" anyway I'll come across it sooner or later.
