Odd advertising at top of pages.

Post by livinonaprayer » Fri Oct 17, 2008 2:06 pm

When I open the Species or the Genetics forum I get a weird listing for cruises and resorts. It's at the top of those pages. Is anybody else seeing this?
Thanks, Arlene.

I'm not seeing them. Maybe you've been "hijacked" or infected with "adware"? Run your virus checker just in case.

Thanks, I will. It's odd that I only see it on those two sections of the forum.

Well I'll be.....
Funny it's just at the beginning of the Species and Genetics forums only. So now I know it's something at my end. :? I've got the latest version of Norton and that'll usually pick up everything. Thanks guys.

I'm getting this 'travel advertising' too, at the top of Species, Genetics, and Site-related. I'll email Hilary and see if Crystal can do anything about it. It can't be just a few computers, can it?

I didn't see it the first time this was posted, but now I'm getting that travel page as well - just on Genetics & Species.

Odd

Just putting in my 2 cents worth....I don't see anything on my comptuter screen in either of the sections you mentioned.

I have a Mac and don't run any virus ware on mine but I don't know if using a Mac is a factor or not!

Hopefully there is somebody here who is a computer wiz and can figure things out. :)

I've got Vista as well and just did a scan - my protection software didn't come up with anything so it's on the site. I'll let you know when I hear back from Crystal.

Me too. I didn't realize that the pages were actually at the bottom until just a moment ago, as I didn't bother to scroll down.
A trio of happy zebs.
