Hey all! Crystal is busy working on content for the Finch Information Center, and has asked for suggestions for health topics. Let's hear it!

I checked out the 'coming soon' subjects under Health in the FIC, and it is hard to select just a few--they are all good candidates for an article. How about Recognizing a Sick Finch and Evaluating Droppings?

Egg Binding
How old a finch should be in order to breed it
Should I breed my crested finch (cute vs practical)
Twirling and Star Gazing
Iodine usage
Overdoing vitamins... choosing an appropriate regiment of vitamins
Goulds, Owls, Gold Breasts, Stars, Zebras, Societies
An obscene number of chicks and eggs
And an incredibly rare St. Goldena Breast finch
Anyone want some finches???

My biggest concern would be how to identify a sick finch and treat it effectively.

I've seen this on the internet but having it here would be a quick way to find it -
A chart listing which medicines can be used at the same time as other medicines or supplements.

Liz, that's a good one. LGF.com has a compatibility chart on her website. Granted, it's only the products she sells. i.e. Morning bird and Dr. Rob Marshall. Maybe a chart with other products from other countries since not everyone is from the US!

If it hasn't been mentioned before... this is sort of "health" related and it may be helpful in times of distress to know where we can find a place to read up on "How to Put a Finch Down - Humanely" - via helium gas.
