really small birds

Post by ryanf » Mon Aug 13, 2007 9:28 am

i bought 2 societies from petco, theyre really small and dont seem to fly well at all. theyre active as can be and eat a ton.

do i just have baby birds? the tail feathers dont even look fully developed. when they try to fly they jump and flutter down to where they need to go

Yeah, I'd guess they are fairly young.

Although, my society hen has never had very long tail feathers. :?

Hard to say without seeing a picture. Are they fully-feathered other than their tails? Do they still have markings along their beaks?

Hey ryan...

You should take them back b/c I have some societies that are about to jump out of their nest any day. I have 6 babies I have to find homes for and I'm a 30 min. drive from you. Two of them already have homes, but I have 4 left.... they aren't weaned quite yet, but will be soon...

I will give you mine for $5 each... but you'd have to watch for breeding b/c I wouldn't want mine bred together as they are related. I band their legs with the same color so that you'll know they are related.

I get $8 and I have a dozen or so I'd sell if you want unrealted stock. Not really trying to get rid of birds but it would be better that petco.
