New Mommy has New Baby
Just wanted to let you know we have a new baby as of this afternoon. I will keep a close I on making sure this one is taken care of. This new baby is from a different set of parents, so hopfully I won't have to try to hand feed another one so soon after the loss of my first baby finch on Tuesday. Seeing the new baby lifted our spirits, we still miss our little "Bird-nuh". There's another four eggs in the nest, so this could turn out to be very exciting. The mother finch is solid white and is one of the 6 finches that we rescued during our vacation to Georgia this past July. It will be very interesting to see the normal developement of a baby finch since the first baby died after 18 days with no real feathers and eyes had only opened a tiny bit. We'll do our best and will hand feed if any baby should be rejected by the prarents. They seem to be very happy and I just love them....

Yes they are Zebras....and can't wait to witness the new babies growing up. 18 years ago someone broke into my home and took my African Grey parrot that I had hand raise from a baby. I had her "Peaches" for three years. She was the most unbelievable animal and I was so broken hearted that it still hurts today. Everytime I see a African Grey I look to see if it's Peaches, for she had surgery on one of her nostrils which led to one nostril being bigger than the other. I know in my heart if we ever came face to face again, we would know each other instantly. So these little finches are special to me, not only because I rescued them, but because I just love birds. My husband is very alergic to the types of birds that give off lots of dander, otherwise I would have another Grey for sure. He really likes the finches as well, and he is'nt sneezing....thank God! I have been very busy with several portrait commissions and as soon as they are done, I will get started on building an aviary. Thanks to all and have a great day.
