Update on Finches 2

Post by jamezyboo21 » Wed May 14, 2008 3:18 pm

I also got 2 zebra finch babies. there both like a smokey white color and the male has black cheeks. The society and zebra had there own cage together. the orange-cheeks, gouldians, and mannikins pairs have there own cage as well. i have four baby zebras in the cage right now with the gouldians.

I made sure the zebras and societys have plenty of nest to choose from. Can you tell? Lol.

Thank you! :) I love them all. Those finch bugs got me pretty good  i still adding too. i live up in virginia now, but by the end of this year im heading back down to florida where i actually have another cage the sae size as the zebras is now. thats the old cage i had them in with the quail before i left. i plan on getting stars, spice, owls, and probabl 1 or 2 more species if possible. but unlike the zebras and societys i will only have 1 pair of each.

hope you realise that there is no cure for the finch bug. once you have been bitten thats it for life. all you ever want are more finches and more cages/aviaries. the only hard part of it all is the constant moving from house to house until you find one big enough lol

Tell me years ago I had spice finches in a home made cage 2 ft deep 6 ft long and 3 ft tall I had trayes of grass growing in the bottom. ( I planted their Bird seed ). I had 6 Pairs, I had enough babies the first year to pay for it all, as the dealer I bought them from Bought all the babies. Once the grass was 6" high the cage took care of it's self. I had a small water fall in the middle that i had to add water to every other day. James
