I turned my alarm clock off last night because i didn't have to get up so early this morning. but at the normal time the alarm went off. i turned over thinking, didn't i turn that alarm off, only to find it was the finches in the living room make the sound of the alarm clock. at the exact time the clock would've sounded, and to top it off they got the snooze time right also.
so what sounds do your birds mimic ?

I don't think mine mimic any sounds. But I am gonna KILL those red headed parrot finches.
I am out of school for the summer and they are up in the aviary singing away at 5 in the morning! And they won't go to bed either.
I told my husband this morning that we were going to have to turn their night light out. They get enough light from the streets. I can handle 6..... but 5.....

Having all my finches in the same room as where i sleep is loud to but not as loud as with the lovebirds, i think the lovebirds tried to wake me up on purpose because now that there outside they hardly ever make noise but in the house they would go on forever. At least im able to sleep with the finches making all the noise they make.

My birds don't mimic anything, but they do know the alarm clock. I have it set for 8 & 8 to remind me to take my pills. Their cage is next to the computer and the clock is next to my bed in the next room. The Daily Routine, is "I get up at 8 come in their room and uncover the cages, take my pills, change their water, feed them, & then go get their bath water. I have these red bowls that are 5" across. when I reach in there cages they get all upset and flit all over, but when it is bath time they just set in the branches and as long as all i do is take the bowl out or put it in, they watch."
"At 8pm I take my pills, then change their water, & then I get their bath water. Sometimes if I'm busy on the computer, and don't stop they will start raising cain and will not stop till I reach for my Pills, Which I take first."
And If I go out and get back late As soon as they hear me come in they let me know that I'm late.
