They're all together now!
I put the GS fledges I've been handfeeding in a cage with their father and two juvies from the first clutch. I saw the dad and one of the juvies feeding them yesterday and today!! I still am supplementing to make sure they get enough, but they're starting to be scared of me and refuse feeding, except in the mornings. So, I guess they are being fed enough during the day time. Yeah! Zelda's (R.I.P.
)four babies seem healthy and look so cute!

Re: They're all together now!
Well, I had to remove Shea, the father of all four GS fledges/juvies. He was actively plucking one fledge to the point the chest looked red and raw. Poor thing, but the baby is actively eating and now starting to heal. Shea is upset he's back in the other flight because he is alone, except for the parrot finch pair. The babies are doing well on their own and the two juvies care for the fledges, except they aren't as good at feeding, so I'm supplementing three times a day. They always act like they are starving.

Sorry you had to remove Shea, but at least the juvies are helping care for the babies. They will be weaned before long. It is wonderful that you have these babies out of Zelda.

Yes, I'm glad I have four of her babies. I have been feeding them again, but not sure about how to wean them yet. They are 4 weeks old now. When do you wean your handfeds and how long does it take?
