RIP STELLA
I discovered Stella long since dead in the next today while I was cleaning. I feel HORRIBLE, that I didn't notice sooner. I noticed several days ago that I didn't seem to see her and thought you should check the next but in a hurry to go to work I didn't and for whatever reason I didn't latter either BAD MOMMY. I know probably it wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome but truly I can't believe I didn't notice MUCH sooner that she had died...so not like me. And to find her the day after coming out from work to find my front car passenger window shattered isn't really helping my mood any, nor the weather. I took her and buried her out in the yard just at the top of the pond waterfall. I'm sorry Stella that I didn't notice you were ill and didn't find you sooner, forgive me. She was one of the females from my first zebra finch clutch and was born just last summer. Her sister Bella and her other sister and her mother all seem well so perhaps it was an egg issue, don't know. She was a beautiful girl and I will miss her.

So sorry for your loss. Sounds like you have your plate full, and it is easy to overlook one of your birds when you have a lot on your mind.

Angela&Shalamar so sorry to hear about Stella
Don't feel bad though... I didn't see Kuri almost ever when she was in her nest and I was convinced that she wasn't eating anything at all most of the time. Not to mention birds are on different schedules than we are.. we juggle a lot in our daily lives and it's very easy to remember you fed and watered the birds so you are good and don't have to tend to the cage at that moment. You did nothing wrong. She is in a better place.. and with birds.. a lot of the time we don't even know they are sick.. and there are times when there is nothing we can do. It hurts.. I know that all too well as we all do.. but you have your pictures of her, and your memories.. and she got to spend her whole life with a wonderful mommy like you!
