All Grown Up
Our little Halloween societies are officially grown and weaned, and so far eight of this bunch will soon be headed off to their new homes. Little Perry, Tango, Elliot, Noel, Floyd, Ginger, Shadow, and Nutmeg. I'd love if I could keep them all, but alas there is simply not enough room in this apartment on a permanent basis for what is currently a collection of 43 birds.

Sheather
They are looking like 'real' birds now, and beautiful at that. What's going on with the little crested in the middle? Looks like he/she has a sore on the cheek, or a bit of a skin problem.
Regarding wanting to keep all the babies.... I know what you mean. I'm looking at my Gouldian babies, and I know that some of them will have to go to other homes eventually, and it's hard to think about it. They are all such sweet individuals, and as they grow and colour up and develope their own little personalities, it's going to be even more difficult to part with them. I think I'll always worry whether or not they will go to good homes, where they will be well taken care of and loved. Sigh~~~
Realistically though, I know that I can't keep them all, and I have to think that there are other folks out there who want to make pretty birds a part of their life, just like I did a while ago. It makes it a little easier, but not much...

Lovezebs - Floyd, the little crested, was over-zealously (but not maliciously) groomed by one of our zebs, Cody (the not psychotic one) when he first fledged. There are new pin feathers coming in now.
