Need to vent!

I really do not understand my zebs at this point. There has been peace in the cage for about 5 months and all of a sudden, my eldest boy has started plucking the feathers off EVERYONE! Ugh!

Nothing has changed! No new birds, rearranging of plants or perches, etc. I have 4 food and water stations so that's not the issue either.

I am getting so frustrated with these boys. Do I separate the one bully? Do I separate each pair? Do i sell some of the birds? Or do I builder an aviary in hopes it will make a difference?

Someone help please! I feel like a finch mom failure.

Sorry to hear that your feathered kids are driving you, .
I can't recall, are all your Zebras boys?

As I always tell people, Zebras will be Zebras . You either love them , hate them, or love to hate them.

If you have one of them going crazy, I would put him in solitary for a little while, then try him back with the others. After a little seperation, they will all have to figure out again who's the boss, and your boy might find himself at the bottom of the totem pole.

Yes, they're all naughty, naughty boys. I think I will try putting my bully in solitary for a week or so and see if that changes his attitude.

My boyfriend and I are still tossing around the idea of building a walk-in aviary in our sun room (It would be 7' tall by 9' long), but I'll give this a shot first. Fingers crossed! I spent some extra time with them last night and fantasized about feeding him to one of my kitties. Not that I ever would!!
