Society Finch Popularity

I live in a city that's near A major city. The second most lagest city in The US. I remember one month I couldn't find any society finches near by in local pet shops. I must of been to about 8 different pet stores not including PetSmart. Why is it that I couldn't find any society finches? I know they are use to foster other finches. Are zebra finches more popular than.Society finches?

Thats odd. All our Petsmart stores have societies finches in them. I would request that your local Petsmart order your finches. I purchased mine last year from them so I am certain they have a supplier.

I hope you get some, they are wonderful.

Yes my petsmart has them I was referring to the other small individual own pet shops. Plus I really wish I could find grays creams and whites. Seems like finches only come in white and chocolate and fawn and white.

OAvila1986 There is a finch society in San Diego County that has some very experienced breeders as members. It would be worth the drive to join this club and get to network with some of these breeders. There is an annual show in Sacramento that is just for Zebras and Societies, so some of the best breeders on the West Coast will be there--road trip? You normally won't find the more exotic mutations at a pet shop, but you sure will find them at a show or from some of these breeders!

SALLY I wish I had the resources for San Diego and Sacramento. And the space to house zebras and my favorite Cordon bleus and more society finches as well.

Or are you just talking about taking a vacation to CA? I would love to go to one of those Pomona marts some time.

I moved to Miss FROM CA 15 years ago. We lived in Felton and Santa Cruz a beautiful coastal area. Its been about 8 years since my last visit. I would LOVE to go. I am more interested in a good cup of coffee on the beach than shopping.

At the bottom of each post, there are some buttons. The @ button is the first one, followed by profile, pm, email. Just click on the @ button, and it will mention the name of the person who made that post.
