Hello Goodbye for now

Post by Spreckles » Tue Sep 13, 2016 1:09 pm

Hi finchie friends.
Long time not checking in. Nothing like a full time job to put a dent in your online time. I miss chatting.
Lots of changes over here. Seems like I'm never home. My grandaughter wasn't into taking care of our flock. I gave my whole set-up to my friend who started me with a couple of zebras.
She texted me last night she found 3 dead yesterday no idea why. Sad. After losing Blue my heart wasn't in it anymore. I thought having babies would do it. Nope.
Blue used to get so close to my face and just gaze into my eyes. These are always flying to the other side of the cage.

Anyway hope the rest LIVE!!! Wonder what happened? Gave her everything including a big batch of bread. She may not have changed it out. I told her to give them fresh everyday. So they may have eaten spoiled food. Poor babies. Its hard to think of EVERYTHING.

One of these days I hope to hear how Elana's move settled in. What's up with Babs, Dylan the bird whisperer, and all the great folks in Texas...bunch of yawl.

My job is great. Private duty RN case sweet 19 year old girl. She is precious. We love this place in the country.
We might get some chickens.....BIG BIRDS!!!!!

Happy fall to Everyone!
Karen

Nice to hear from you again.
I'm doing okay. At 19 fids at the moment, after catching our latest addition - a lost parakeet that showed up in our backyard - last Tuesday. Nine budgies, three cockatiels, one dove, 2 society finches, and three canaries. We lost one canary this summer, but everyone else is doing well. They spend lots of time outside in our aviary, but will all come in again soon as the weather cools.

Hi Karen! I'm so glad you checked in. I hadn't been on in a while myself, and am missing my bird pals.

I'm so sorry you lost three...glad to hear you're loving your job!

Dylan,

Did you ever write that book?

Hi Karen,

I was wondering what happened to you.
I haven't been around much lately myself, but trying to get back into the habit.

Yes, I survived the move from 'hell'.
We are more or less settled in, but still have a garage and basement filled with stuff that needs to be sorted through. I figure that it's a good job for the Winter months, when can't do anything outside  .

So you decided to part company with your birdies....
I can understand what you mean when you say how you lost heart after losing Blue, and can totally sympathize with you.

I lost several birds after the move, to one thing or another, sigh....
I have even considered rehoming some of them, but so far haven't. I'm going to give it some more time and think on it some more, before making any major decisions.

Glad you found a job which you enjoy, let us know how it goes.

Do take care hon, and keep in touch.

Dylan should write the " bird whisperer" book. Who catches someone else's lost birds??????
Elana I'm sorry your move has been so hard. I hope none of my favorite characters died. If it was Max don't tell me. Birds are endearing, who knew? I think I want heartier critters. Reading a book , "Free Range Chicken Gardens" it's interesting. If I learned anything here it's to do my research FIRST.
Anyway great to hear a little from yawl. I'll pop in now and then.
I loved my little patient it's awesome to be back to work. After 6 years off that's a big deal. Its coming back to me & this is a great family.

Spreckles Do stay in touch, it is good to hear that things are going well for you. Isn't it great when you enjoy your job? You can still enjoy all the wild birds that should come around your area.
