I've never heard of a female Java that sings. That's usually a sure sign that it is a male.

hat.him, the male's beak is a bit more bulbous than the female's. My male sings and does a little hoppy dance for his hen. She doesn't make much noise at all...until he jumps in the nest with her. I'm not sure who is making the racket then but it is the bird version of the best scene ever from "When Harry met Sally". :shock:

Guess what happened today?
I took the pair to the breeder and asked him if they were male n female, n the guy told me that both were female -.-
So I got one exchanged with a male. Hope they do well in future [-o<
