Bird Show

Well, the local bird show was a bust. Got there to stand in line before it opened. By the time I circled around to find a few small birds, they were being snatched up. I did get a lead for some gouldians tho. Does anybody know why the pretty little finch is soooo hard to get your hands on? My local pet stores only carry zebra finch and budgies. Lots and lots of budgies! Maybe one or 2 larger birds. I have had birds shipped, but I just hate to do that. I'm sure it is very stressful for them. Anybody know of good breeders around the St. Louis MO area?

That's too bad really.

Not sure why there is a shortage og Gouldians in your area.
If I were you, I would definitely try to get my hands on a couple of unrelated pairs if that's the case.

Have you checked with some of the Bird Clubs in your vicinity?
