Post by Tish » Tue Apr 11, 2017 11:59 pm

lovezebs yes I decided on the zebra's, I went to a bird store and the lady tried to sell me a zebra finch with a broken leg, but couldn't give me him for less money so I bought just the female at that store. Funny thing is when I asked to see their zebra finches she pointed to the society finches and said" she like these zebra's the best". I stood there confused and had to tell her they were society finches not a another form of zebra finches. The when she caught my a female Zebra finch she let it go in the store and couldn't find it anywhere. So she got me another female and thankful didn't lose that one, well she almost did, but she caught it. So then I had to go to petsmart to get my male zebra finch. Got home and they get along great. Their names are Joey and Charlie.

Tish Ricardo Ronsini

A 'very well trained employee" indeed...head shake.

I think it's sad, when people who work in Pet Shops, don't receive even some rudimentary education about the animals they sell.

Reminds me of our (now retired and much missed ) Vet, who had a lady come in with what she claimed was a pure bred Irish Terrier which she had paid an arm and a leg for in a Pet Shop. She was extremely disillusioned, when he told her that her Irish Terrier was in reality a Red Nosed Pit Bull Terrier  .

I think people who work in Pet Shops, and people who shop in Pet Shops, need to educate themselves, and not rely on what someone tells them.

I'm glad that you got your little pair of Zebras, Tish, and that they're happy together , and that you're happy with them :D
