They have to exercise their legs as well as their wings. Perches branches of various sizes and grips ensure their legs and feet stay strong.

When a bird sits on one size perch their muscles become used to only one way of standing and they lose strength in the legs.

My bird family has actually grown by more than seven...uhemm... errr.... there are the seven, and then there is also the tiny family of mother, father, and baby Zebra.

Then there are my own two baby Zebras, Porky(blind) and Fuzzy.... and five infant Gouldians in one nest and one infant(maybe more today) in another nest I am quite hopeless .

They appear to be fairly young birds, and in ok shape, but I couldn't believe that there was no food in the cage, and the cage, oh that cage.... it looked like it hadn't been cleaned or the paper changed in months.

Maybe they ran out of food, and decided that there was no sense buying more seeing as they were selling them anyway, I honestly don't know, but I just felt sorry for them, and I'm glad I got them out of there.

lovezebs now u made me think i am like them. Missed a day in the seperation cage because every timer i open it, the hen flies out the top to go visit with her hubby. So glad this is all over next friday.
