Hello Finch Lovers,
Reading different articles, I came upon an interesting write up about a new species of Finch which Mother Nature has decided to grace our world with, but don't buy a new flight cage yet folks

.
Enjoy the following article:

So do I. When do you think they will hit the market and how much do you think they will cost?

Never - Galapagos finches are protected.
They also are not closely related to any finches commonly raised in captivity, being an unrelated bird group which has only developed a similar appearance through convergent evolution. They are called finches because they look like them, but aren't actually finches.

Hi Fraser and Nick,
I'm afraid they will probably never 'hit the market' , lol.
This birdies on the Galapagos, are protected to the best of my knowledge.
It's just interesting to see how Nature finds a way to create a new species.

They won't honey.
Much better to concentrate on the birds you have now

Nobody is going to smuggle out such plain birds. There really is no profitable market, as there is for prettier animals. This is to the benefit of the Galapagos finches, though.
