Should I ?

Post by tammieb » Tue May 01, 2007 1:48 pm

I saw this ad on craigslist and have emailed to find out the birds and cage/accessories can be had for $200.

http://omaha.craigslist.org/pet/321594400.html

This person lives in Omaha, which is a two hour drive (one way) for me. I haven't asked if they'd be willing to meet me halfway.

Sounds like they have one male and three hens, which is the opposite mix you should have for budgies as the hens fight over the males.

Anyway, I'm debating the pros and cons.

What do y'all think. ;)

Honestly, I'd say don't go for it. I think (and this is just me) that cage is too small for 4 budgies, and $200 is very expensive for that setup. Consider the cage that plandsandbirds just bought brand new here, for only $130, and a regular petstore budgie that can go for $15 when they have a sale. You can have a huge, high-quality brand new HQ cage and your 4 budgies, babies still, for $200 and have a much nicer setup.

Again, this is just me - if you fall in love with those birds, then take them. But the price seems high.

The price is too high, especially for craigslist. I think maybe $100 if they meet you halfway. Considering the price of gas, especially.

Yes, I thought the price was too high also and it doesn't seem they are willing to meet me. Oh well, there's always another deal around the corner.

holy crap does the $150 include the cage?? I'd go for the ringneck Tammie! Unless the healthy issues were the bird's and not the owner's...
