Ah k then, I actually suspected that, but because I never read that anywhere, I assumed societies were on their own.
Thanks for the clarification.

whatever happened to staff training..why dont these people take the time to find out what birds they are actually selling...at least they would not look stupid when people ask questions!

My avatar is of bronze-winged mannikins. They are similar looking to some societies I have seen, but their color pattern doesn't vary like societies. A small emerald green patch on the shoulder is sometimes visible. Maybe this will help. The first time I saw them, due to inexperience, I thought they were societies. Maybe that's what she is thinking, just visa versa.

...'these people' are primarily teenagers making min. wage...think they're going to put in the time it takes to learn about birds on their own?
Complain to the corporate headquarters...if enough people complain, maybe they'll either train the kids...or pay what it takes to hire people who know their stuff...
A bird in the hand...requires some serious washing up...

I remember being in that situation back in high school when I worked at an orchard for the summer. Customer, "can you tell me what kind of peaches these are and when they will be in season?", me "I don't know I just work here".

ok I don't think I was quite that bad. I do miss that job.
