Playing With Hair - Zebras

Post by Leikela » Sun Jul 15, 2007 2:31 pm

Not long after getting my finches I was already learning about each of them (Iv just had them since June 11,07) Zorah (male) comes over to see me almost all the time on the other hand Kezia (female) is much more watchful & is less likely to come over to the side of the cage.

One day I was by the cage, just watching them & Zorah came to the side & pulled some of my hair in & started playing with it, not pulling it but almost like he was grooming. I started talking to him & he start tweeting etc. Anyway Kezia was watching she kept coming a little closer then going back to the other side every time she did this she would come a little closer to me.

She seemed to want to come over & see what was going on but was not sure. Finally she was getting pretty close, almost close enough to touch my hair she got closer, closer, closer, then touched my hair real quick, then quickly turned around & went back. It was so cute & funny! Image

She wanted to take part in whatever was going on over there so bad but I think everything else in her was telling her not to go over to a human. lol

You would have had to been there to really enjoy & understand exactly what happened but I thought I would try & share it anyway. lol  Image

One of my canary hens will do this. She waits for me to place my head against the aviary mesh then she comes over to tug my hair. :D
