@sarehptar intrigued about the bug vacuum and totally get the sending thoughts to people about things want for my birds... lol did you read the one where I asked my co-worker for her hard boiled egg shells??
Yes, I have one of these
[link]. I got it to catch moths because I'm way too scared of them to squish them, but then I thought, you know... it's not very powerful, maybe I could... Sure enough, it sucks up the seed hulls right out of the food cups and leaves all the heavy, unhulled seeds behind. It's amazing not to have to blow the hulls out myself. And there's a tiny net inside that's not big enough for the hulls to pass through, so as soon as the suction is off, you can tip them all right into the trash can with no mess to clean up at all. Plus, the motor sound is pretty quiet and doesn't disturb the birds!
And my parents thought it was a ridiculous purchase, can you believe?

I love all this talk about seed! What about feathers! My Zebbie is moulting at the moment, and I'm finding his feathers all over the house! In the toilet, behind the fridge, down the hall, in the bedroom, in my partners hat....LOL

... when you sit nicely on the tube on the way to work and you notice people staring at you because you have big chunks of nesting material hanging off your scarf

You know it's bad when you're trying to type, but certain keys just will not work unless you pound them several times. So, you finally call your teen son and confess that you may have dropped some crumbs in the keyboard, and after shaking it, pounding on it, analyzing it, he calls for a toothpick and says, "No, it's not a crumb, it's a seed."

You know it's bad when it seems your finches ate a whole lot and you replace the food to find out the haven't eaten any of that and when you pull back a floor drawer to replace the paper under the paper is half of yesterdays food.....

When you buy corn on the cob for dinner, even tho one child has braces and the other has a very loose tooth, knowing that they'll have to cut the corn off the cob, and then you can give the cobs to the birds!

You know it's bad when you find seed hulls in places they dont belong when youre getting ready to shower and you are not even surprised

You know it's bad when you make cereal in the morning to find it's bird seed........ (What a bad mistake, I'm moving my seed container now...)
