Very clever indeed.
His recall, is at around 85%: when off leash at the dog park.
Not bad for a three month old, eh?
I just hope that all this doesn't change drastically when he becomes a teenager....

The dog park trips are wonderful for him. I wouldnt worry too much about when he's a teenager. When he gets around 15 months to 2 years is when he will let you know whether or not he will tolerate other dogs any longer.
His recall is a good sign that he is very anxious to please you. Watch for good solid direct eye contact from. That also means he is watching your facial expressions closely. Use that to your advantage when training him so he can respond appropriately to just a sound and a stern look.

When I raise my voice, frown , and point 'the finger' at him, he turns to an apologetic bowl of wiggling jello . If I get really mad, and roll him, he gets all upset and mopes around, drooping tail, drooping ears, drooping everything, lol.
I look at 6 months to 18-24 months as teenager time. That's when they think they know it all, try to challange everything and everyone, and basically become a real pain in the butt. Of course every pup is an individual, so the level of 'pain in the butt' can vary greatly.
Charlie Chuckle Bum, (so far) is a middle type of puppy. Not the submissive kind to be walked all over, nor the bad ass alpha (?). I was looking for a middle type pup, so that's good.
I just hope he doesn't challenge my good old Danny too much ('cause I'd have to really step in in that case and wrestle him to the ground). So far Danny, keeps him in line, and Chuckie shows due respect, but that can change very quickly once teenager-hood hits. Charlie, will be considerably bigger and stronger than my poor arthritic lumpy, limpy Dannybear....
I am really hoping for a smooth transition of who's the top dog, without any major problems.

I wouldnt worry at all about Katy & Danny. Its doubtful he will show any aggression to his pack. But if something threatens them, you will have a hot-tempered Bubba on your hands.
Unless something unusual pops up like food guarding.
Food guarding is an issue between my two dogs. Its easily solved. They are fed in separate rooms or theres a fight.
Other than that the two are best buds and worm up together to sleep, team up to happily guard the fence from monsters and dinosaurs, the occasional zombie.
Katy will always be the boss. I'll wager on that. That terrier. GRR.

So far no issues with food guarding. They are all fed in the kitchen at the same time, and are all finish eating at about the same time too. Then they do this musical bowl thing, where everyone runs around and checks out the other bowls to see if there was anything left over
(there never is).
When Chuckle Bum Charlie gets his mid day meal, the other two get a cookie, so that there are no hard feelings.
Regarding the challanging for authority, I am expecting something to crop up at some point between the 2 boys. The Mastiff breeds can be somewhat iffy with other same sex doggies in the household, especially if the other dog is old and sick, but still trying to hold on to his Top dog position . Hopefully it won't come to that, and Danny will pass over his duties without too much loss of face.
Danny is actually the boss dog.
Since her health problems have cropped up recently, Katy has become much more laid back and a cuddle baby.
