lovezebs That is indeed a confusing reply! I think Sojourner may be onto something in that English may not be their first language. But I agree that it sure sounds like they want to sell all the birds in the post and that they don't want to sell all the birds in the second. Confusing!

I am almost positive that the cage is this one, listed on the PetSmart website. I originally looked into it as an upgrade for my two finches, thinking it was far bigger than it looked. Dimensions are 26"lx14"wx20"h. It's a $55 cage here in America, though I've no idea what they would have paid for it in Canada.

When I first got Scotland my first society, I went cage shopping and in petsmart in Ontario that cage is 79.99. I didn't end up buying that cage, but for 1 or 2 finches it would work, but bigger is always better. This guy has 7 in his and that is just crowded.

If he'd sell them, I'd take them, but there is no way I'm paying that price ($150.00). The guy is nuts if he thinks he's going to get that kind of money for a small cage filled with Zebras. Especially not, when you can find Zebras quite often being given to a good home.

I had that exact cage in the ad, hated it, and eventually got rid of it lol. I kept a pair of zebras in it-the only pair that actually produced babies for me. IMO, it was sufficient for 2-3 finches; certainly not more than three. I think it is one of those cages that looks way bigger than it actually is.

It may be that the owner started off with just one pair of zebras in that cage, which then had babies, and brought the number up to seven. Although, it would've been helpful to have a couple of different perches in there.

I can't zoom in on the picture very well, so I can't tell how dirty it is.

I agree it's to small, but it is bigger then Scotland cage that he shared with 2 other finches. I rushed out and bought him bigger, but in my eyes it wasn't big enough and I felt bad that the first 3 years of his life he was squish in this little cage with 2 others.

I emailed him last night, offering my $50 bucks for just the birds.
He responded this morning, offering the 7 birdies for $70.

I think I'll let him wait another few days, and offer $50 again, lol.

We have a flight cage like that... I only use it for when we have a bunch of juveniles that are ready to be sold. I get them out of the aviary and put them into the flight cage and then take pictures of them to put up on gumtree or on the local facebook bird marketplace.

I would never keep that many birds in there for any more than a week.

From what I could see, they had lived in that cage for multi generations.

I just felt bad for them, which started all this silliness, because I honestly didn't need any more Zebras. Then I got caught up in the moment, and the rest is history, lol.

I called into one of the local pet stores last week... they had a bunch of zebs in there. I walked out with 4 pairs
