What kind of zebs do you have?!?

There are lots of words to describe zebra finches, but I"m not sure "quiet" would be one of my choice words! LOL
I've got a rather boisterious bunch of honking flying pigs. But that's why I love them!

I hope you get a sign soon!
I've found the vocalization level *really* varies among the individual clutch.
I had a clutch that were peeping on the first day! It was incredible, as I didn't think they *could* peep until the end of the second, beginning of the third day.
But they were doing it!
Sadly, I think it's because they were neglected. They ultimately died because parents rejected them when mom got sick with Twirling.

Then I've had 2 clutches --- if you can call it that, first was just one baby, second was three, but only 2 survived.

The singleton was rather vocal and it was a trend that has continued. He's *always* chattering away. It's literally almost constant. 75-80% of the time, he's sort of peeping under his breath.
He's super chatty.

The twins, on the other hand, were always super quiet. I literally heard them 2 or 3 times in the nest and only when they were actively being fed. That was it.
They're just around weaning age now. Pippin, I've seen him beg once or twice; he really took to eating quick. Piper is slower to get the eating thing down, so she begs like a crazy person. But in the nest, they were super quiet.

So hopefully, you'll get a loud bunch!

Are you checking outside the nest in case someone died and got tossed??
They dry up VERY quickly, easily within a day. Once dry, they're hard to see. I've had them in the seed catch tray. They were presumably tossed in the AM and by late evening, they were dried up to almost nothing. They would be easy to miss, save for the little puff of feathers.

MiaCarter, in the evening I clean the cage, pull out the carpet and clean and brush outside, so I would notice a small one, in the morning it is new water, food, egg, and some qcumber and lettuce, my birds lovvvvvvvvvvvvve the greens.

So, I am always looking in the cage, but hopefully will soon hear something new....

CHIRP -- My guys love the greens too!

And cucumbers? They're cucumber eating machines!
I prepare all the food in the bird room so I'll be cutting up the cucumber bits. During that time, I leave the cage doors open as I'm constantly going in and out.
Molly Sue and Squeepers will come out and they'll start feasting on the cucumbers before I'm even finished cutting! It's hilarious!

I need to figure out a way to anchor the greens down somehow!
My guys are always taking the greens and using them as nesting! I've tried zip-tying them to the side of the cage and so forth, but they always get it free.

I'm sick of picking kale out of the nests! LOL
The other solution is to chop up the greens, but that makes them wilty fast and I really don't need another thing to chop up into tiny beak-sized portions!
