A few years ago I had another pair and they never chased anybody. That just shows you once again the different personalities they can have. I remember that the new fledglings were tiny and could have fit through my 1 cm (square) wire. In fact one of them was halfway out and I got there just in time. Promptly went to Home Depot, bought a big roll of mosquito screen and encased the whole aviary until they were big enough that I didn't have to worry anymore.
Something else I just remembered: they needed LOTS of live food for the nestlings. One day the subterranean termites were emerging from in between some rocks and there I was, on my knees, with tweezers picking them up as they showed up. I put about 80 at a time into the food dish and the gold breasts gobbled them up in minutes.
Just so you know what you are in for.
