Im not a mealworm expert. But if you want humidity but don't want to risk mold, place a bowl of cotton balls soaked in water in the container that has just the pupae in it along with the carrot for them to eat in case they emerge from their casing.
That might up the humidity much more. And if they get in the water bowl they wont drown with the cottonballs holding the moisture.

Thats a trick some of us use with finch baby brooders.

Denise I keep the larvae on the rye crackers and such. If I see any pupae, I take them out. They don't need to eat. As for eating the mealworms- They are DELICIOUS. I eat mine, too.
2 black cheek zebras and 5 CFW zebras, one A&M pied coturnix hen, my darling cream/lavender coturnix roo, and his attitude.
