I wish I was posting pictures with this post...but seeing as I just sprayed my Texas finches with AIL, I can't continue to torture them now with pictures...I also modified my society finch flight for Max (clubbed feet :( ) and added some thicker/textured perches and 2 smooth pumice ledges.

But the real update is......
  I FOUND AN EGG IN THE OWL AND STAR FLIGHT!!! :) =D>
I am almost positive it belongs to an Owl...they have claimed the top corner shelf for themselves and the egg was directly under the shelf. So Tom & Jerry and most likely Tom & Gerilyn! Lol  Owl babie is my future...hmmm...maybe!!!

Lol!!! I really wanted to name them dessert names...but Lil Joe nixed it #-o . Truffles, Fudge and Brownie were my choices :( Curly is the crested one, Mo is the biggest one (European) and Larry is grey...Poor Max didn't look good last night. He was on the cage bottom for a while. None of the societies have strong wings. They stay in the bottom portion of the flight. In time, they will hopefully grow stronger and use the top as well :) . I'm thinking of clipping some fresh Kale to the bars at different heights in the cage to coax them to explore more. I will try it tomorrow.

I know!!! Owl babies are adorable!!! Who knows if I am capable of breeding them??? I think the female is the fawn owl. Her breast bars are narrow. I think with this combo I would get all visibly normal babies...right???

I dunno, hubby just thinks owls are adorable, and I agree. Probably isn't even a single owl finch in all of Connecticut, just like all the other wonderful finches out in the rest of the world. (You know, I even had to order the ordinary wicker nests from Amazon.com because nobody within 20 miles of here had any? Not one?) So I am planning on living vicariously through you and your owls and cordon blues and stars and green singers and all, so give those little birds a nest and let them make baby owls!

Lol!!! I'm not even sure how old they are...I know they are young. Maybe after quarantine I will put them in the breeding cage  ...Oh boy...remember what happened the last time I bred my finches??? I sure do #-o  :) .

Thank you Debbie! I hope to take better pictures soon. They are all still very nervous...except the green singers!!! They have settled in already, as they have been here for a week longer than the others. Strangely, the societies are the most skittish...they only stay at the bottom of the flight. Very strange for finches...
