The breeder pointed out the parents and I did have a good look at them and thaught they were YH but honestly didn't look at the colour of the beak tip. But there was alot going on and maybe he got it wrong or i did . Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but it does look orange to me especially when compared to my RH. I will post a pic after she is finished moulting and see if the consensus is the same. If you are right I will have to reconsider putting these two together. I would get all RH/YH right? It was the YH I was hoping for. thanks everyone your opinions are truly appreciated!

Hens can have a wide variety of shades and tints to the head color, more so then males. If the beak tip is red its a RH, of yellow tip YH. Don't focus so much on the actual head color as the beak.
Some hens have a full head of black feathers except for one red feather and genetically she is a RH. Most times the head will turn redder in future molts.

Well, what do you know, the Orange (yellow) heads, do have an orange beak, and the Red heads, do have a red beak.....
Never really paid all that much attention to it.

That's the old F030, the new one has my wee Waxbills in it.
I house Canaries and Red Heade Parrot Finches with my Gouldians. They get along great.
