Sheather
So the concensus appears to be, that I should grab them, lol.
We shall see if I can haggle the price down on my next trip, to the Pet Shop, next Wed. ;)

What offer?
Spices visiting feeders could be caught using a trap cage, though wild flocks here are caught using nets.
And indeed, they are not exatly Socieies when it comes to breeding, and breed better in aviaries.
Mind you, two youngsters in a store are probably siblings, aren't they?
Good luck haggling anyway!

The offer to catch some Spicesl if you were in the States, of course, lol.
There is always the possibility that they are sibs I guess.
I am pretty good at haggling actually
We shall see

Just try and make sure they are really pure Spices, not hybrids with Societies.
With young birds this could be less obvious.
Definitely don't buy if you see any white on them.
A photo of young Spices with adult, just to show you the difference:

No white that I could see....
Darn, I knew I should have snapped some pictures.
They are sort of fawn, golden in colour, with one showing more scales than the other.

On young Spices, the scaly pattern appears gradually, scattered first, so it's normal for one to have more than the other.
In fact, this way you can be sure they are young.
Just ask for guarantee that they are pure Spices, which will be visible when fully colored.
And please do not crossbreed them with Societies, it would be wasting them.

I'm afraid there are no such guarantees.
Kids at the shop wouldn't know, and being unfamiliar with the species, I'm afraid I wouldn't know either
Will definitely snap some pictures next time I'm in there.
