I am so sorry for your loss, and what you both had to go through.

So sorry for your loss. Your Cherry hen had a prolapse, and it is almost always fatal. Some birds simply aren't good parents. I had a pair of Cherry finches that tossed all their babies at hatching. The only way I got any babies was to put the eggs under Societies, and the Societies raised three babies for me. Others have no problem at all breeding their Cherry finches.

I've sold my budgies last Saturday. :/

EDIT: Now I have one female zebra finch, because I couldn't find any society that fast. But it seems they fit together. I love female zebra's voice. Sounds so funny and makes me smile, but I'm still very very sad because of female cherry death and it brings tears to my eyes. My mother is sad too, because she really liked cherries. I would do everything to get a new pair of cherries one day. :/

I got a male zebra finch too, but my boyfriend didn't like their voice. They didn't let us sleep so we "traded" them to two society finces. I don't know are they both female but thay haven't sing. And I got some good news! I can buy a new cherry finch from Poland! I don't know now should I buy just one female or female and one extra pair. It depends how much they costs. Ofcourse it would be amazing if I could have 2 pairs of cherry finches! :)

That is good news. Hopefully you are able to get both pairs as this would provide a larger gene pool. :)

I finally got a new cherry finch from Poland on Sunday. It's male, but I'm gonna get two females too. He's young, but I don't know exactly how old is he. His sing is funny - sounds like my baby society started singing. And here's one picture, too.

Yesterday I got myself one quite young budgie girl who was found outside. I'm glad that person catched her. She tried to find her owner but after week she gave her to me. Her name is Pipi and she's living with my finches now. Thay all seems to tolerate each other. :)

She's adorable...but keep a close eye on them, because parakeets and finches usually can not be housed together.
