Nerien I am sure Ginene will be doing a head count in the bird room before she takes me to the Ship! I am taking a train to Statin Island then coming back to Vermont with my dental office, Dr Palm is taking us on a cruise and chartering a Bus there and back. Other wise I would LOVE to swing by your home and get some soc's

Ginene Oh boy! they look so serene and innocent LOL! LOTS of drama here, I put the Pied males in with Lucy and Woodstock. Woodstock is bonging with Royal Blue and Lucy is terrorizing Barry White. :? annoying.

You should see the feathers all over the place! Lucy is such a creep sometimes. I think she has an egg stuck though, I hope not. Here we go again! Lucy the egg laying machine!

Oh No!!! LUCY!!! Always causing DRAMA!!! Zebbies are professional trouble-makers  ! I hope Shabby and Cheek are doing well with Ann & Andy. I was thinking about moving Ernie in with the Stars and Owls...but I don't want to combine the birds yet. Bert is such a bully [-X

Uh! So gorgeous!!!! Wish I could see them in RL!
I wanted to ask, are those water dispensers deep? As in the water spout part look quite deep so lots of water is in that part (hard to explain)
Where'd you get those? They look as if the water doesn't get "stuck"

They're fantastic!!! I bought a dozen @ ladygouldianfinch.com. They also sell them at ladygouldian.com. I buy the 7oz ones. They are top shelf dishwasher safe :) . I'm still waiting for my green singers and Max (society) to drink from theirs, so I can stop putting water bowls on the cage floors. They always manage to get pooped in...YUCK!!!

Not at all...and they are easy to clean and don't get yucky/gunky. Best of all...they are inexpensive :) . I was thinking of changing my baths to the Ruth's jar ones too, but I spent a fortune on the Lixit ones. I like them a lot...and I make sure there aren't any perches above the baths.

I make sure there are no perches too but these soc's just love to poop in the bath in the seeds and the lafebers! Like really.
I also saw Roseanne take a dos right into the spout f the water the second I turned to leave!

Those Lixit bird baths make real nice seed bowls, too, that's what I use for my budgies. Being shallow, they don't build up a layer of hulls that bury the seed below, and several birds can feed at the same time. Easy to remove and clean, too.

To keep them from getting pooped in, and the water trays also, I invented a bunch of covers:

I also have those water tubes, I love them. As long as you position the spout higher than the perch it's next to, they stay clean. (Otherwise they hang their butts over them and poop inside when perching.) They're really inexpensive, between $1 and $2 depending on size, so you can get extras to rotate for cleaning, easy to clean, easy to fill. I have at least 2 on every cage, so that if something happens to one, there is always a back up. I got the 3 oz size (I think it was, short wide ones) for the finches and bigger ones for the parrotlets.

I took that same hang-on perch and took off the wooden perch part, and just put a whole rectangular lid on the frame, upside down so it makes a tray, and hung that in the parrotlet cage to put fresh foods and treats on, either directly or into clips above it. They drop 90% of what they nibble at, that way it falls on the tray and they can then eat it from there. Saves so much wasted food and mess in the bottom of the cage. And...it covers the food bowl below, giving twice the usable space up the side of the cage.
