Hi All! I thought I'd post the most recent pics. This past Wednesday I convinced John to come out and see Squeaker with me, he claims to be unimpressed but he was grinning when she was trying her best to eat his fingers lol. She's grown so much! she's fully feathered and they've moved her from the enclosed plastic tupperware type container to a normal bird cage with her brothers and sisters. I'm almost certain she's a she, there are rather distinct white rings around her little nostrils now, I'm a little disappointed but still hopeful that she'll learn to pick up a few words and won't turn into a nasty critter like I've heard females can. I also bought her a few more toys  she's got 9 total I might need to remove a few to make room for the perches lol. She should be able to come home this coming week and thanks to a change in my work schedule I have Thursday, Friday and Sunday off, so I could pick her up Weds, leave her to settle while I'm at work then play with her all day Thursday and Friday!! :D
here's the pics, all taken from John's hands

Squeaker is a beautiful budgie. I love the spangle markings. I hope to get some that are as nice out of my pair.

As for the toys. I suggest putting three or four in at a time, then once a month or so, switch them. It keeps things interesting for the bird, without breaking the bank. I have begun making my own shreddable toys to save money.

Thanks :D I love her too, she's so pretty! It's too bad you don't live closer Tammie or maybe we could do a breeding exchange and get some pretty chicks out of her, of course if we did that she may lose that wonderful hand tameness she's got.
oh ok, I wasn't sure how many toys she'd need, I know they're smart and active and I didn't want her getting bored. Also on that other forum I was on someone posted a pic of their parrotlet cage and the thing was stuffed with toys and I figured that since she's bigger than a p'let she might like as many toys. Also I do work from 3pm - 11pm, so she'd come out around 9 - 10am when I get up and go back in around 1- 2pm before I leave for work and then unless John decides to play with her she'll be in her cage the rest of the evening. Thankfully my schedule has changed and I'm no longer working 12 hours every Sat and Sun, now I only work one day a weekend :)
I'll pull out a few of the toys, I have a few repeats, like the rings, I have 1 set of oddly shaped rings and one set of round so I'll take out one of those and I have like 3 pacifier type toys so I'll take out one or two of those. How do you make your own toys??

I looked online at the toys offered for sale and thought, 'Hey, I can make something similar.' So I went to the craft store and bought the plastic beads, and etc. and came up with my own creations. I will take some photos later and show you. They are not fancy, but they do the trick and keep my two entertained.

lol OH kenny! I'm already attached! They have to ask me to leave when I'm at the aviary or else I'd sit all day with him lol. Besides if she never talks that's just an excuse to get an Amazon

lol Rue, that's ok, if the Amazon doesn't talk I can always get something else lol
I've had a very productive day today! I made Squeaker's perches and rearranged a few things, I'm not quite done setting up the cage but almost. I took out a few toys as per Tammie's suggestion, I also needed to so I could put in perches lol. The home made perches look really nice, I might go see if I can find some more maple branches to turn into perches, I'll probably need to if she lives up to the reputation budgies have for destroying things lol. My todo list consists of figuring out a good locking system, getting paper from work and lining the cage bottom, putting on the seed guard and cage cover and getting a hanger and hanging the cuttlebone. I'll add her food and water when I know for sure I'm getting her. Hopefully when I call tomorrow I'll be able to go and pick her up!! I've also got to make her an appointment with the vet for a check up, hopefully they can squeeze me in on Thursday if I get her tomorrow :) Here's pics of her cage, any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

She's home, she's home!! I called this morning as soon as they opened and they checked and said she was ready to go home!! YAY! So I sped over from Super Pet (trying to cash in on clearance sales, but no such luck :( ) picked her up and raced home. I sat with her on my finger for about 15 minutes, she let me pet her and scratch her neck and she stepped up very nicely. She seemed pretty scared so I put her in her cage to acclimate and she sat on a lower perch and slooooowly looked around and around at the new cage. I hope she settles in well tonight, I decided to get her today so she can sit in her cage and acclimate while I'm at work. She's got her check-up appt tomorrow at 10am, then we're headed home for some playing and training. We're also building her a play gym, John agreed to help me, originally he wasn't going to, but then I put my perches together all by myself and he decided that he should probably help after he saw what his toolbox looked like after hurricane Thalia had been looking for vicegrips lol. I've got her food and water in some little bowls on the floor as well as in her feeders. I have a seed mix and a yummy looking veggie/pellet mix, it smells good enough for me to eat lol. here's the pics I snapped before putting her in her cage :D Still not sure if she's sky blue or cobalt though lol
