thanks guys! I'm almost done work, it's going to be SO hard not to peek in on her tonight, but I dont' want to give her night frights so I won't. I called John and he said she was doing well until he covered her and she was fluttering around quite a bit, hopefully she settles ok though, I've got the crab light on all night long so hopefully it'll give enough light to her.

Squeaker is lovely. I'd say she's cobalt. I know she's not dark blue like you'd expect "cobalt" to be. But a sky blue budgie is more of a greenish blue. Believe me, I was totally confused with the color discriptions at first also.

It usually takes them a day or three to get comfortable enough to move freely about their cage. After having finches you expect the bird to fly/hop/climb around the cage when you first put them in but budgies are a little more sedate. She will likely spend time looking around as you described, just taking it all in. Then slowly begin exploring her belongings. Before you know she'll be investigating everything.

That's what my hen did anyway. You are lucky in that yours is already hand tame.

I hope the vet check goes well. She looks healthy to me. :)
