Hey everyone i haven't bin on in like months, i have no finch's at this very moment but i am getting 2 societies and 2 zebra's 2 pairs. also can i actually take the finch's out after years of having them, i mean liek to put on my finger and hand and to stretch wings, cause i am not going to be building an aviary around about now.
Also i am getting them this friday how long do you think it will take for the pairs to realise that they are the only male and female.

Although some people have been very successful at handtaming finches, most of them don't respond to it very well, and will fly off instead of sitting on your finger. And it won't take those finches very long to figure out who's a boy and who's a girl!

Handtaming is almost impossible with finches. It take A LOT of effort, probably more effort than a parrot.

I think that the easiest way to tame a finch is to incubate it yourself, hatch it yourself, feed it yourself, etc, etc.... but it's mom, and you probably can never have it around any other finches. Then it'll think it is part of your family.

It is like the move Tarzan. He knows he's different, but the apes are his family because they raised him. But once he figured out that he was human, and there were others like him, then he started to act like them.

So, if you introduce your handtame finch to other finches, it'll probably become unhandtame.
