Two of my birds often rest and sleep in this little fleece tent that I have in their cage. Yesterday, I put a candy coated chocolate finch-sized "egg" in the tent to see what would happen. For the remainder of the day, my society seemed very interested in what was in her tent. No one slept in the tent last night. However, this morning, I watched the society again investigate the egg. Then, a bit later, I saw both her and my spice finch laying on it as if it was their own! They really do make good foster parents!
(I've since removed the chocolate egg. None of the chocolate leaked out of the candy shell.)
