PetSmart sent an email with coupons, so since I needed an excuse to go shopping, off I went!
I had already purchased the two manzanita branches, but today I got a ceramic heat lamp, two glass tube waterers, a toy, a cuttlebone, a perchup perch, oyster shell, basic seed, and vitamins.
I got $20 off then another 10% off because of petSmart petperks card. Doncha love a good deal?
I have a perchup swing on order, should be ready on Tuesday.
Weeee! I am getting closer and closer!

It sure is hard to wait isn't it?

It's fun to shop Lynn, but it's more fun to order stuff online!
Instead of ordering one big box of stuff, I spaced out 5 separate orders.
It wasn't on purpose, I wanted to try new things they had.
I still buy stuff at the the pet store, but seed is one thing I order online because it's in bulk and fresher. You never know how long that stuff on the shelf sits before it's sold!

I agree, I spent time last night trying to find on-line food in Canada, but was unsuccessful. I will keep looking and also see where some of the Cdn members here get their food.

You know.... I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'm not sure about that statement.
Depending on who you order from of course -- online stores have shelves too lol.... gotta store it someplace til the order comes in.

It's all a matter of degree of course! There are many people who feed Hagen seed to their very healthy birds. While others would not touch Hagen.
Many people here feed ABBA, and I would love to find it or something similar. I have a large freezer, but you also have to be careful when freezing because the food can get dried up if not sealed correctly. So even if I have some shipped, or find it locally, I have to be careful with storage.
I read and researched a great deal when I got my dogs, and I don't feed them Kibbles N Bits, I feed them a high quality dog food with home made treats.
I want to do well for my birds, so I will continue to read and find what I feel is the best for them, which in my mind is closest to what nature at her best would supply.

I generally sprout a lot of seed for my birds, and a quick test to see how fresh the seed is, is to sprout it!

In the bigger cages and aviarys try planting their bird seed and let it grow up and goto seed. I used a good quality potting soil in trays 6" deep. dont water to much till the grass comes up (No mud). Also try putting in a water fall, from the amphibian section of you pet store, that has fillters.
