Yesterday, the first members of our new flock finally came home. Thanks to Martie (FF Mod), we have a beautiful pair of Green Singers. We are so thankful to EVERYONE on the Finch Forum, for the support and kindness you have shown over these past 3 months. Meet Penny (F) & Leonard (M) :)

Martie took this picture for me at her house. Hopefully, once they settle in I can add more. I am a very happy Finch Mommy :D

Next...Su Yin (neversink) is shipping 4 pairs to me from Texas. Sally reached out to her friends who breed the finches I was looking for and found MOST of my new flock for me. Yay Sally!!! =D>
I have M/M BCCB's, M/M Owls, M/M Stars and M/F societies coming the second week of October!!! So I go from 2 to 10 within a 2 week period of time  . I am very excited but also nervous. I hope every one does well. NY is very different from Texas... :-SS

I am SO not a future breeder, Will. I LOVE M/M pairs...they are gorgeous, sing and there's no breeding drama! Cant beat it! However, my singers are M/F and a Penguin Zebra pair from Chelsea (WFA) are also going to be M/F. So when I get up the nerve to breed, I will have a few choices. I think its a good mix :)

They have NO CHOICE!!! Chelsea (WFA) sent me an AMAZING PM, telling me that my family was chosen to receive a pair of finches from her aviary as a GIFT for all we have been through!!! She said we could choose ANY mutation we wanted...I couldn't decide, so "the Joe's" chose Penguins :) . Anyway...her penguin pairs have just recently begun setting up the nests for their next clutches. So technically...my zebra pair is a pair of eggs at this point :) . She will send out "hatch cards" when the eggs begin to hatch and send updates too! So, by the time my penguin zebs arrive, they will be WAY too young for breeding. If I have to...I will house them separately until its safe for the hen to lay eggs. Whew...that was a VERY LONG and WORDY explanation
