61 degrees in Florida - AviTemp Panels anyone?

Wow - had to pull out my sweats today! What is this madness? ;-)

So - gotta think about heating the aviaries/flights this winter. I have always used the ceramic bulb with deflector hood - but they are awkward and ugly.

Anyone use these AviTemp panels? They seem a little pricey, but I always worry about covering the cages at night, and causing a fire if the sheets are over the ceramic ones. The back of these are supposedly cool. Would be putting them on top wire of the Plexi flight/Aviaries.

Comments, thoughts, experiences?

Thanks,

Lauren

Well, seeing as no one is responding - perhaps no one has these AviTemp panels?

Anyway - I just ordered some. :-) When it starts getting seriously colder perhaps there will be more interest. I will be glad to share how mine are working out.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lauren

Are you aviaries indoors or outside? I'm not familiar with aviTemp panels.

Inside. But, we try and keep the electric down and not heat the whole, big house. ;-)
Just thinking ahead - and trying to prep for cool weather. It DOES get pretty darned cold in North Florida!
One of the reasons I love it here. 8)
