my first clutch

here are a few pictures of my first gouldian clutch and shaft tails. are white breast harder to come by then purple? I have a guy who wants one of my white breast for two of his purple???

They look wonderful, nice job.
No the white breast is just another mutation, not particularly rare but is recessive so you need both parents to be split for white or have a visibly white breast to produce white breasts in their offspring.

Like Michelle said, WB are not rare but you need both parents to carry the gene to get WB chicks.
Good looking birds though your male goulds looks frazzled, he may need a break from breeding. Also could just be that he fluffed his feathers just as the picture was taken

The male has always looked like that. I took the nest boxes from the aviary for a month. The pet shop where I got him said he was in a molt. So he's been molting for 6months now

I would watch him for signs of illness, they don't usually breed when molting and he doesn't look well to me

I will. Like I have had him since last April and he looks the same. His face is and always has been crappy looking. he has fathered two successful clutches and is always active. I hope to tell in the baby's if he has issues or just an ugly bird!

he is a prime example of why I dont shop at the pet shop I bought him from. Also if this matters...all my birds are outside birds..I will get a close up for you
