I am getting some SPICE FINCHES!

Two from a local competitor from my store. They may be hybrids, I swear I heard one chirping. The accidentally set one loose, but I paid and I'll go back later and get them. I hope if they are sociaty hybrids that they are as good at fostering eggs!

The look like pure Spice finches IMO...

Hopefully they are a pair but I never had any luck breeding my Spices. They were indeed a m/f pair but all the reading I've done says it's better to get a group of juveniles and let them pair up on their own as they mature.

I do love their little song though.

I am enjoying them, they make such lovely sounds. I think one is singing. Their little claws are overgrown, how ling should I let them settle I. Before I clip them? I don't want to stress them too much!

My spice is a....hmmm how can I put this? Anti social. I've trimmed its nails twice now both times it had bitten me. I let him and the societies fly around in the sunroom and the societies had a blast. They went back in the cage/ nest in the evening. The spice on the other hand ....I couldn't find it twice . It hid behind furniture then hid behind a curtain. He wouldn't come to eat or anything. I had a huge tray out with water bowls and everything! He's very flighty and seems to have an attitude. Maybe because he is the only spice?? Anyway, hope you enjoy them.

They have cute little voices, they are boath male however. But I still love them ^^
