My first birds were a pair of spice finches, and I kept them for a while. They were my beginning birds and were pretty good for this but I later ended up purchasing a pair of societies also, and fell in love with their personalities. As my two societies Flurry (left) and Errol (right) began to expect their first babies, I decided I would rehome Pepper and Nutmeg (spices) to someone with much bigger accommodations and concentrate only on societies. In this time, Flurry and Errol had a healthy clutch of four babies - two girls and two boys, and I adopted two other pied hens, whom I named Lyra and Aurora. All was good on the finchy scene, and I ended up keeping two of the four chicks, a mostly fawn hen named Lizzie and a chocolate pied male named Apollo.
But well, when my local shop suddenly began to carry Java Sparrows - a species I had wanted so much before but could not find - I simply had to get them too. XD So though it went against my initial society-only plans, I don't regret bringing home Henry (white) and Michael (slightly pied) one bit. They now share one cage, and the society family another. I know the societies are a little crowded but don't seem to mind, and I will one day be upgrading their accomodations. I also don't know the java's genders, so their names may end up being rather inappropriate if both turned out to be hens; I do hope though that I've ended up with a pair.
So without further ado, here's my feathery flock.

Flurry, Aurora, and Lyra ^

^ Little Apollo

^And little Lizzie, who's going through a bit of a messy moult on her face right now.
