How many female Zebra Finch...

I am hand raising four Zebra Finch, they will be 4 was old Wednesday. I want to keep the females in the house. One is singing the male song so I think I have 3 females, clutch mates, can I keep all three together or is if better to just have 2? Or 4, all females.

And, can I put the fledglings in a cage with a male and female with one 2week old chick? The cage is quiet large and I will only have the pair and baby in there for 2 more weeks, they go in the aviary. :)

I'm not sure how large your cage is, but zebras are know to be aggressive with each other, if in more than a pair. If you post pics, we can see if the four month zebras are male or female. The young chick should be left undistrubed with the parents, so the other juveniles don't interfere.

You can keep the youngsters all together, no nest.

I would not add any birds to a cage with parent birds and nestlings.

Pictures will help us help you ID'ing sex and mutation.

What do the parents look like, can you post a picture? Some are fawns, sex linked so it depends on the parents' mutations are to determine the sex.

this picture is clearer...they look a light gray....it is to early to say the exact sex....give it a few weeks. Some look like they may be Florida silvers but without seeing dad or mom it is hard to tell you exactly what mutations they will be. If you can post the parents it would help.

Any males you have may be split to fawn if mom is fawn
