Cool idea. Are those cages on the shelves? Or did you actually convert the shelves into cages? You know, I have been eyeing an old book shelf that's sitting on the landing to my basement. All of the other book shelves in my house are full of books. LOL.

They are cages sitting on the shelves. I built trays for each shelve to catch the seeds and hold the cages better. The lights are beloved to bottom of each shelve and I drilled a hole in back of each to run the cord/s. I used 3x1/2 boards and two 4x8 sheets of thin melamine. Spent about $30 for the trays. Lights from Walmart $10 each.
