Three of my four foster Zebra finch are now getting cheek patches, with no nest or nesting material can I keep them together or will that many males and one female be okay together? I have them inside but can put one or two in my aviary with my other Zebra finch. Help, plezzzz...

When the males and the hen mature (3 to 4 months) nest or no nest the three may try to court her and eventually the males may bicker and chase each other as if claiming the hen. Either house the three males together and find a hen for the sister to stay with until mature enough for all to go out to the aviary.

Thanks, Cindy, that is what I thought. Sometimes I just need to make sure. I will set her up with a new sibling and leave the guys together til they can go to the aviary.

I had four males and darn it all, didn't one of them lay the EGG? Life hasn't been the same since. . Seperate them, before you end u with a soap opera.

Opps, this morning looks like I may have four males, a few more days I will know. Looks like cheek patches starting, still molting. Four singing male Zebra finch in the living room....how could I get so lucky....

We won't mention what it will be like when they all decide to ' love to hate each other'. LOL.

My guys were all so sweet, that I thought they would never fight. They got along so well and ate together, preened together, bathed together, slept together... It was so cute and charming.... And then one day, they grew up.
It went from to in what seemed like overnight.
Be prepaired my friend. At some point, you might need extra cages or dividers or a spray bottle with cold water, to cool hot heads bent on blood shed and mayham.

Enjoy the sweetness while it lasts.

Oh....not my boys...I believe ya, I have seen them in the aviary but I have to say the females can really be witchy..I will keep a watch and can notary I was not warned....thanks-I think..

I gave my foursome some carrot greens from my garden and the oldest male of the four is now trying to drag a carrot stem into the seed cup to build a nest, guess everything has to be chopped up. Goofy birds...

I like to leave a little piece of carrot on top of the greens and hang it like that from the top of the cage. They will do their own crazy variation of a may pole dance in the air. You will laugh your pants off.
